Following the submission of a revised planning application to formalise the installation of the cricket nets, a number of local residents raised objections. The frequency of noise and the height of the back and side netting were of particular concern to them.
Old Rutlishians’ is a community association and has always tried to work with local residents to address any concerns they may have about sport at the Club. As a result of this concessions were offered to change the colour of the back and side netting. Members have also been asked not to use the nets before 9am.
The application also provided detail of the planned fencing that will increase the security of the grounds and eventually blend into the existing hedgerows.
The full review by the Council planning committee can be watched below. Old Rutlishians discussions start at 01:31:04 with the application being unanimously approved by the committee.
